Not enough parts in stock / Dead inventory.
Improve parts management.
One of the main issues the dealer wanted to address with a new system was correctly managing their parts inventory. Parts with high turnover were frequently out of stock, while non-seasonal parts went unsold and became dead inventory.
“Before, parts sales staff wrote everything down in a notebook, and once every 2 weeks we created an Excel spreadsheet and placed an order with John Deere based on our best estimate”.
The problem with working this way was that the dealer tended to restock for the whole year without taking into account seasonal activities such as planting, harvesting, etc.
Autologica helped the dealer deploy the system’s Parts Suggestion feature that allows the dealer to maintain an adequate inventory level, avoiding out of stock parts and immobilized inventory. Autologica uses historical information and estimates as part of its parts management solution in order to calculate the right quantities to order.
“Now we program parts purchases based on what Autologica suggests, instead of ordering every time we sell something. This helps us avoid lost sales caused by out of stock parts”.
Sala Hnos. can now order parts in an organized manner and based on real data, allowing a more efficient use of their capital.
Information spread among multiple stores / Data stored on paper and Excel / Costly servers and IT technicians.
Centralized database – Cloud-based (on-demand) DMS.
Sala Hnos. has a main store and 2 additional locations, which made it difficult to consolidate information. If they needed to know if was a part in stock they had to call all locations to find out. With Autologica Sky DMS, everyone can access the system instantly to know if and where a party is in stock.
“The system is very comprehensive, we can see inventory for all of our parts. If a part is not in stock at one store I can quickly check if I have it at another store”.
Autologica Sky DMS is based on cloud–computing technology, which means there are no servers at the dealership. Users can access the system over the Internet from anywhere.
“By hosting the system outside of the dealership, available via Internet, we can easily access the data we need. Our dealership has a parts emergency phone number, so now when a customer calls us we don’t have to go to the dealership, we can check Autologica from wherever we are to know if a part is in stock”.
The advantages of centralized information have also helped Sala Hnos. organize administrative issues. Ruben Falappa, head of the Administrative Department, can now manage cashiers at all points of sale directly from the main store, and can pay suppliers, make bank deposits, and transfer funds.
“With Autologica Sky DMS I can access the CRM from wherever I may be in order to see customer information”.
Managers and dealer principals can also see what’s going on at the dealership without having to be there physically.
“We can access Autologica from our stores, home, customer sites and when we’re on vacation, and it has the same performance from wherever we are. We chose Autologica Sky DMS because it compared favorably against the cost of deploying our own servers, and we think it can be managed better in the hands of experts. We feel it is the most reliable option”.

The Sala family has been doing business in the same place for 78 years, where founder Angel, later his two sons and today one of his grandsons (Gustavo) have maintained close ties with farm owners in the region.
Today they are an official John Deere dealer, and their goal is to offer customers superior service whenever their machinery requires it.
